My Pre-Travel Diary
Day-to-day life before the adventure
Myworldaround
MyWorldAround is officially on the move.
And with it, I’m launching this very special section: My Pre-travel Diary.
HIYAA!! Who’s here for the love of adventure—and who’s here for the gossip? Either way, there’s space for all of you… and yes, grandparents, for you, aaalways

After more than three months shaping this project — without really knowing what I wanted it to look like, the tone, the rhythm… also about organising everything while I work, juggle adult life and trying not to explode with excitement for what’s coming.— finally, the moment has arrived:
Here’s where I open the door and invite you to step into these first steps with me. Because, spoiler: it’s not the first time I’ve tried this… but it is the first time I’m truly going for it.
• The Dream (and its Plot Twists) •
I’ve been dreaming about exploring Asia for years. It’s always been on my list of “things I’ll do one day,” but between one thing and another… somehow, the moment never seemed to come.
In 2017, I almost made it. I had a partner, a great plan and even a one-way ticket to Nepal.
But three weeks before the trip… Break-up. BOOM.
My backpacking dream turned upside down, and suddenly, the idea of going alone felt impossible.
Why? I don’t know. Because now, I am convinced that alone is the best way to live this experience.
So I settled down again. Life back in Spain, after five years in London. Stable job, car, independence… sound familiar? ♣

• Until she arrived •
(the mid-life crisis)
That little voice that used to whisper softly… suddenly screamed: “NOW OR NEVER!”
So I welcomed 2025 with a big challenge in my hands, this year is going to pass for me becoming that little bunny called Felix that I read so much as a child “Las cartas de Felix el explorador” (although he had more orientation than me). But hey, if I don’t get a bit lost, it wouldn’t be me.
In the end, what is really worthwhile, at the beginning, always gives a little bit of fear, respect, vertigo… call it what you want, but I’m sure you know what I mean.
WHY THIS DIARY? Because writing is something I’ve never been bad at, I could say it’s one of my favourite ways of expressing myself. I’m so excited to be able to share this experience and one day, when I’m 60 years old, I want to be able to read this and say: “look how beautifully you dared”.
(Hey, present! Don’t go, it’s only just the beginning).

ONE TRIP, MANY BEGINNINGS.
If you’ve gossiped a bit, you’ll have been able to see that for the moment I’m keeping my identity until I sort out some pending issues and, in the meantime, My Pre-travel Diary will be my corner to share how I’m managing everything before taking off:
- BIG DECISIONS: How I’m choosing each destination, what route I'm taking (if I follow one at all), what I have to leave behind and what I'm taking with me.
- ADMIN & PREP: All those little things that seem secondary until WHAM, you realise they are essential.
- EXISTENTIAL PANIC MOMENTS: Because yes, there are. And leaving everything behind to cross half the planet is no mean feat.
- THOUGHTS & ANECDOTES: Random thoughts, unexpected stories, and everything that makes me go "Right, I’ve got to write this down!".

When the trip begins, this space will evolve. This Pre-Travel Diary section will be “frozen in time” to make way for the start of the Travel Diary section, where planning turns into action (I’m getting emotional just writing this, and that’s beautiful)
⇒ Note: All images in this blog have been generated with AI (for now), mostly to add my personal touch… But don’t worry, once I step out of anonymity, I’ll swap AI for real-life snapshots (and I promise, no extreme filters—keep it real).
