Dear Diary,
I wanted to tell you that you won’t be a typical blog — you’ll actually be my personal travel diary. A way to share what I feel, live, and discover throughout this journey, just in a digital format open to everyone. Why? Well, of course… there’s a reason behind it.
When I finally made the decision to throw myself into this backpacking adventure and started getting stuck into the preparations (because yes, there are plenty — and they’re no walk in the park), I slowly began to realise that something I’d been thinking about for so long was actually about to become real.
And without even noticing, a few question marks started popping up — even a bit of “respect” for some of the decisions I’d have to make…
For me, for you, for all my family and friends — but first and foremost, for myself. So here it is:
• Expectations vs Reality •
There are two main reasons — and a few smaller ones too.
The first is that I’m about to make a pretty big dream come true, and I feel the need to document it. But freezing moments in photos and videos just didn’t feel like enough.
I thought it might be a good idea to write down the story behind each of those moments instead. ☘︎
• More than a travel Diary: My Way to Breathe •
And secondly — though I’d say it’s actually the most important one — I started wondering how some of my loved ones would take it.
Especially my grandparents.
I felt like this would be a more heartfelt way to share how I feel about this transformation and everything I’m about to experience. ☘︎
“Are you okay?
Do you still have money?
Are you even alive?”
The idea’s simple: instead of repeating the same story to everyone about how this adventure is going… I’m sharing it here.
Efficient, right?
WHAT WILL YOU FIND HERE?
EVERYTHING, no filters.
At first, it was only going to be my Travel Diary.
But as I started planning everything, I realised just how much there is to sort out in advance — so I decided to create a Backpacking Kit section.
And, as the departure date got closer, emotions went wild and decisions came flying in… and just like that, my Pre‑Travel Diary was born too. ♡
I write for my grandparents, but also for you.
Because if you’ve ever dreamed of leaving everything behind and starting over, maybe this diary will give you the little push you needed.
